AL'S ESCORTS

Our Brother Al Pederson, Grand Warder, has begun his travels with his escort, his mom, Joan Pederson.

However, later this year, his mom and dad flitter away to Florida for a few months. Low and behold he will need other escorts for his travels.

Here is your chance Sisters (and Brothers?). Contact Al if you can accompany him in traveling to OES events across the state.

His various escorts will be honored here...

SPRING 2010
WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

Our first meeting was April 14 and we honored our Junior Past Matron Jan Hermanson and Junior Past Patron Matt Rose.

They were escorted to the east, presented with gifts and our thanks and then escorted to the Altar to sign the Chapter Bible.

Then we all ate pancakes, waffles and eggs at the Lodge pancake breakfast on April 18.

The Chapter had our first bake sale of the year at the breakfast and we did very well!!! Look forward to more delicious goodies at future events.

April 28 was our stated meeting and we were looking forward to Grand Chapter . And we were excited at the appointment and installation of Al Pederson as Grand Warder.

He really didn't even get lost but enjoyed the parties.

May 12 we heard the details of the Grand Chapter events reported by Jennifer Papas. Then the Mothers were honored and each given a rose.

The salad luncheon was a very fun time. Good food, great socializing and making wonderful greeting cards of all types. Thanks to Carol Van Hofwegen and her committee for a very nice event.

Our Chapter birthday rolls around at the end of May and this year we celebrated 97 years on May 26.

Naturally we had to sing Happy Birthday to ourselves and have birthday cake. We are in full planning mode for out 100th coming up soon.

If anyone has historical items, articles, programs, pictures or anything else of interest from our first hundred years please notify Jerrie Hayes. We would like to have it or borrow it, which ever suits you.

Then June 9th we tried to learn a lot from our District Instructor, Peg Oliver assisted by Marilyn Carlson.

It was nice to have our school of instruction just before our initiation meeting. What a help to our officers.

June 12 the Social Club had their annual picnic.

Pot luck items added to the sloppy joes, potato chips and pickles that Judy Lantto and the committee had.

After lunch the first 'bottle auction' was held. What a hoot! Disguised bottle of various types were auctioned off. Who knew what you might pay for what?

Brother Al Pederson was the auctioneer. That was a show in itself. It has been reported that several bottles of adult beverages made their appearance amongst other cleverly wrapped bottled items.

Perhaps this may become a traditional event????

We welcomed four new Sisters into our Chapter on June 23.

Congratulations and welcome to Gracie George, Esther Daily, Krista Benninger and Marie Nelson.

We hope to see them come and join in the fun and events of our active Chapter.

Then we honored the fathers in the Chapter. They got candy bars to enjoy.

Edina held their 4th of July parade on July 3rd and we marched and rode along with Bethel 1 Job's Daughters.

Thanks to Brad Johnson who graciously drove his classic convertible for the WM and WP and who ever else could get a ride.

We all came back to the lodge for Burger Day grilling and open house. It was a nice day even if it was a bit warm, ok HOT! HUMID! Typical 4th of July weather.

That brings us up to date and up to the future events.........

LOOKING FORWARD TO THE FALL

Sept 8 is the meeting we honor our founder, Rob Morris. We celebrate with a great dinner. This year Kurt and CherriAnne Johnson will again be our chefs. (Famous chicken?) Please make you reservations so you don't miss out on dinner. 6pm dinner.

Sept 11 will again be the Social Club luncheon. Don't miss out on this one. Noon is the time.

We are looking forward to the Official Visit of the WGM and WGP and other Grand Officers on Sept 22. We will enjoy a wonderful pot luck dinner at 6pm.

The Chapter has been collecting food the Joyce Food Shelf and we will continue doing so for the rest of the year. Bring items each meeting. The Joyce Food Shelf is in our area so let's support it with lots of contributions. See Jerri Hayes if you have any questions

The Chapter will hold a reception for the Grand Warder, our own Brother Al Pederson on Sun. Oct 3. More details later.

Start your mouth watering for breakfast now. Get ready for the Chapter Pancake and Waffle Breakfast, Sun. Nov 7 at the lodge. Don't forget our wonderful bake sale to go with it.
